About

Welcome to Cake Diem, a blog for homemade baking recipes with minimal fuss and maximum personality. It’s a balance between the simplicity of recipe index sites and the amity of a web log. You don’t have to be an expert to use my recipes (seeing as I’m no expert and I made the recipes!) as they are designed for anyone and everyone with an enthusiasm for baking (and eating) all things home-baked. All recipes are made from scratch and I solemnly swear never to use a cake mix; baking is so easy and fun, there is never a need for shop-bought!

That’s the plan anyway. Let me introduce myself properly…

My name is Amy. I love yoga, reading, drawing, and playing my ukulele. I’ve had a few blogs in the past but none I’ve really committed to because frankly, they weren’t on things I was passionate about. Like really the-kind-of-thing-I-want-to-do-everyday passionate.

For a while this upset me as I’ve always dreamed of having a little corner of the internet to call my own. Then it hit me. Every week, without fail, I will bake something. Be it cookies, brownies, cupcakes… I will have baked something. I do it automatically. I enjoy it. It gets me through long hours at uni. I enjoy it so much, it feels effortless. With it being a intrinsic part of my life, I never thought about writing about it. Until now that is!

As I said, I’m no professional  I’m just a girl who likes cakes. But I’m a fast learner and you always learn quicker if it is something you love. And I think I really do love it. So stick around, and maybe you will learn a thing or two. Or maybe even you end up teaching me a few things! I don’t mind. I’ll still bake to my heart’s content.

Here’s to happy cakes. Bon appetit!
