Links I Love

I get my inspiration from many places online but there are some blogs and websites that I absolutely adore and read pretty much everyday. I feel these must get some recognition on my blog. So here they are!

Baking Blogs/Sites I Love ♥

MyDearBakes

This site contains some of the cutest 3D cakes around. Some are truly breath-taking. What I especially love about mydearbakes is how encouraging they are towards new baking bloggers. They have recently introduced a ‘I’m a Baking Enthusiast’ Award that is given out once a month to anyone who contributes interesting articles/reviews/recipes or tutorials relating to baking/cake decorating on the internet. Unlike other blog awards, no requirements need to met to receive the award.

Can’tStayOutoftheKitchen

I absolutely adore the owner of this blog, Teresa. The whole site just oozes with essence of homemade cooking. It contains recipes for every meal but of course, I devour the baking recipes. Actually, there are articles on biking, nutrition, thrifting and crafts so really this should be under the lifestyle blog section.  But, as the name suggests, the blog seems first and foremost about food, so it will remain here. While the site may not be a slick or flash as other baking blogs out there, the recipes are so creative and varied, it is definitely worth a look.

FoodsForTheSoul

This blog was started when the owner decided to set herself an alphabet food challenge; once a week, she cooked recipe she never tried before that started with successive letters of the alphabet. She enjoyed it so much, her baking blog stuck. I love that story. I think it is so inspirational. The blog posts a lot of low-fat, gluten-free and vegan recipes showing baked treats don’t necessarily have to be unhealthy.

Lifestyle Blogs/Sites I Love ♥

ABeautifulMess

This may just be my favourite blog ever! Everything they blog about (be it crafts, recipes, decor, photography, fashion, beauty…) is honestly beautiful. There isn’t another word that does their posts justice. There motto is everything in life is home made and one day I would to be able to live off the earnings of blog posts about my home made life. That’s the dream anyway.

HelloGiggles

HelloGiggles is a positive online community for women covering DIY and crafting projects, beauty, friendship, sex & relationships, pop culture, pets, television & movies, nostalgia, fandom, tips on savvy and stylish living meant to inspire a smile. Founded by Zooey Deschanel, Molly McAleer and Sophia Rossi. Reader contributions are welcome and published daily. I love their ‘Nails of the Day’ posts and ‘Live Cute-Cams.’ Every article is sure to be an interesting read, so interesting in fact that it is hard to catergorise them here. Just have a look yourself.

Other Blogs/Sites Worth Mentioning!

  1. Thanks, Amy. I’m so glad you enjoy my blog. I hope my step-by-step approach is helpful to you and others who follow my blog. I’m trying really hard to get better at photography so my pictures get better. I got a new camera–now I just have to learn how to use it!

Some of my favorite blogs are “Tamara Leigh: The Kitchen Novelist,” “Sweet Peas Kitchen,” “Barbara Bakes,” “Nancy Creative,” “Sally’s Baking Addiction,” “Recipes for My Daily Bread,” and “Elise Bakes,” which she’s changed to “Paint Chips and Frosting.”

I follow these and about 25 other blogs via RSS feeds that way I can look at new posts in one location and get inspiration from what others are doing.

    • You’re very welcome. My photos aren’t the best either but it’s all about practise. I’ve just recently discovered ‘Paint Chips and Frosting’ too and I adore her photography. I shall have to check out your the others. Thanks for your suggestions 🙂

I follow most of my blogs on Bloglovin’ which allows me to browse all my unread blog posts while still appreciating the look of the blog, a bonus to just using RSS feeds. Although, if I’m just browsing on my tablet, RSS feeds are a lot easier to read so I guess I just use the best of both!

What do you think? I would love to hear from you!
